Candle Care
- Allow your candle to reach a full melt-pool on the very first lighting by letting it burn continuously for about 3 hours. This will create a “burn memory” that will ensure your candle burns evenly and cleanly without tunneling each burn thereafter.
- Burn your candle for no more than 3 hours at a time.
- Always trim the wood wicks to about 1/8” to 3/16” before each burn. Not doing so could cause smoking, sooting and flames that burn too hot/high. Use a wick trimmer or large nail clippers to trim the wicks. Alternatively, use your fingers to gently break off the black tip of the burnt wick with your fingers using a tissue. Make sure you remove all debris before lighting your candle.
- Never trim your wick when the wax is in its liquid state and try to ensure you remove all bits of the wick after trimming.
- Always light both wicks of our 2-wick candles to ensure that your candle burns evenly and properly.
- Always ensure you burn your candle on a stable and heat resistant surface, away from drafts or items that can catch alight. Never handle or move the vessel while lit as it will be hot.
- The most important thing to remember is that candles are a naked flame and they need to be treated with caution and respect. Therefore, never leave a burning candle unattended and make sure to keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
- To extinguish your candle, use a snuffer or blow it out gently. Do not use liquid or the lid to extinguish your candle. The lid is not a snuffer.
- Stop burning your candle when 1/4 inch of unmelted wax remains.
